In reading we were learning about Violet Walrond. This DLO explains a little bit about her and her experience in the Olympic games.

Reading with class 3 and 4

Today our class were reading to the class 3 and 4. Me and my buddy where reading a book called Charlie and Lola. after we were counting in twos and played a couple hand games. I thought this was call to interact with the juniors.  

cause and effect

Today in reading i was learning about cause and effect. I learnt that a cause is what happens and the effect is the outcome of the cause.

Charlotte Anne

In reading today we were learning about Charlotte Anne’s and the change she made for females. She had confidence in herself and was doing what she wanted to do and not following the rules. She was very different to other females while they were cooking and cleaning and relying on the male to make the money she made a living for herself.

In reading this week we have been talking about the way of bias.

We read an example and a large symphony that wanted to hire musicians. The problem was that they were judging the musicians by their gender and not there music ability's. So they decided that they would do blind auditions so they can only judge them on there music. This is how the symphony overcame a bias.

when we read this we all agreed that their choice of having blind auditions was far and it would make it more even.

Main idea

The main idea is what we learnt and the learning behind it. In this case the main idea was what the whole purpose of the poem. The main idea of this poem was to remember the solders and what they did for us.

bias DLO

My role was one of the bus strikers and i was texting my boss and my friend. I was explaining to them my bias (my point of view). Paige's role was the public and she was texting a work mate and one of the bus strikers and she was doing the same thing but her bias. I was important to look at both sides of the story (provocation) to make an informed choice.

current events

Today, paige and I started working on a DLO about the Auckland Bus Strikes. We used our skim and scan skill to find information and to add it to our DLO. paige and I also added a Point Of View for the two groups involved in this Bus Strike. This work helped us the to find various sources and it added it to a our DLO but also making sure that it's in our own words.

In reading we were reading this book called the lost thing. This DLO shows what it was like in the characters world and in the made up world he discovers. It show the differences between the two worlds.

How to survive a cow attack

This is a DLO showing how to survive a cow attack. It was an activity were we read an article and rewrite the polite points into our own words. This is my one.

reading

For reading we read a narrative about terotero and how people catch, prepare and cook terotero. I thought the authors purpose was to show the reader some of the traditions that some people have and some of the gross and unpleasant things people like and dislike.  

Current Event

For reading we had a task called can do's. We had a couple of activity's that we could chose from and i chose to do one called current events. It was a kinda easy when i new where to get all my information and knowing all the details.
