Quick write rotation

Quick Write Rotation

Learning Intention: to understand how our choice of words create the mood of the story.

Your challenge:
Using the 4 sentence starters, come up with the next 5 sentences, and include some dialogue.  Make sure your sentences and dialogue match mood. You will have 5 minutes on each task


The wind howled through the window. The girl sat huddling her knees waiting for the storm to be over. She watch as the trees scratched against the window. She carved herself in the bed sheets as the thundered filled her ears.


Jack had seen enough. shutting his eyes he tried to block out the fire that was destroying the city. “Mum there's a fire.” he stuttered. Running down stairs to meet the blazing red fire. Watching the fire spread throughout the city. A tear dropped from his eye and ran down his cheek.


We ran as fast as we could , desperately trying to get away from the dark shadow that was gaining on us. He looked behind him and his eyes meet the figure the was gaining on him. As approached the river that happens to be in front of him he striped and unfortunaltly the figure ran faster then the boy.
