Kayak trip

Kayak trip
Bring! Bring! my phone vibration alerted me that Lucas had arrived and was waiting for me. I walked outside to greet him and i saw a bright orange object on the roof of his car. I had no idea what it was but i wasn't going to say anything because I didn't want Lucas to think i was dumb or something. He drove me to a patch of grass by a lake he jumped out of his car seat with excitement and rapidly grabbed the tent from the boot of the car.
after putting up the tent, Lucas unstrapped the strange object from the car. He asked for my help to take it down to the shore.Thoughts came to my head “why on earth would you put that i’m the water?” i said, he shrugged and kept going. I knew something was up but i didn’t no what.
He threw a life jacket to me and I slowly stuck my arms in with confusion. He hopped into the front of the object, and told me to hop in the back i reluctantly did what I was told. We paddled over to a bridge where the current was very strong. Suddenly a wave bashed into the side of the object and flipped it over. Lucas and I were stuck under the object and using our legs to keep us afloat . Lucas looked at my terrified face. Then he cracked up with laughter. I looked at him with confused stare. “ I knew you haven’t been kayaking before” he announced I continued to stare at him with fury. He started to push the kayak over i didn’t help i was too mad to.
  Lucas and I paddled over to a rickety old bridge after a couple of laps going up and down up and down trying to locate the tent. It was so important for Lucas to prank me that he forgot where the tent was. “Dumb” I thought.

It had of been at least half an hour until we got back to the tent. We both paddled to the shallowest part of the shore and lifted the kayak. We look at each other i still was really mad but on the inside despite everything I had a pretty good day

Informed choice

LI: To make an informed choice.

Today we were deciding if we wanted to change the NZ flag or leave it as the current flag. We could of done it by ticking the box on a piece of paper underneath witch flag we wanted to pick. But instead we made it into a informed choice. An inform choice is a couple or even one reason that backs up or is just the reason why you chose that particular thing. Our information for each choice helped us decide what we want to choice. We got into our thinking groups and and came up with a couple of reasons why we should and shouldn't change the flag. After we went back to the mat and shared our ideas. after we got handed a slip that had both the current flag and the new flag on it and a box underneath both flags. We chose witch flag we wanted and handed it back to our teacher. some of us shared our decision and their reason why they chose it.
The most votes went to the current flag.

 This is a game we did for maths its a game to practice looking for ordering decimals. It was a game where we has to pop the balloons in the order smallest to highest. I thought it was a easy game because it showed the fraction on a pie chart.

trust test

This is an activity were it was to trust people. We had to trust the person in the front and the person in the back.

science

For science we did an experiment using corn flower and water. Its was a process of stirring the corn flower into a weel and then poring little drops at a time in corn flower in while stirring it made a nonutonian liquid which is a solid with fores and a liquid with no forse.

maths

This is a example of our learning and understanding of decimals and explaining why they go where. I had trouble at first because I got mixed up with the highest and the smallest but then miss Kirkpatrick explained it to me and I eventually got there.  

tech

For tech today we where learning how to use Tinkercad for our 3D printing. We had a competition to see who could make the most strangest thing but using a egg as the body. We had to use a hole somewhere in the thing.
